Day 1: Reykjavík – Blönduós

Embark on your Icelandic adventure with a seamless transfer from Reykjavík to Blönduós, following the excitement of the Landsmót hestamanna finals. En route, we’ll make captivating stops, immersing you in the beauty of the Icelandic landscape. Upon arriving at our guesthouse, a delightful evening snack awaits, setting the stage for the unforgettable days ahead.

Day 2: Riding instructions and Skagafjörður

After a hearty breakfast, meet your equine companions in our modern stables. Forge a connection with your horse under the guidance of a professional riding instructor. Post-lunch, explore Skagafjörður’s rich history, visiting the 18th-century turf farm Glaumbær and delving into Viking battles at the immersive museum 1238 in Sauðárkróki. Conclude the day with a dip in the legendary Grettislaug geothermal pool. Return to the guesthouse for a sumptuous dinner.

Day 3: Vatnsnes Peninsula, Riding

Discover the natural wonders of the Vatnsnes Peninsula, exploring Borgarvirki’s basalt fortress and marveling at the Hvítserkur rock stack rising from the ocean. Visit a seal colony, explore the historic site Þrístapar, and choose between riding instruction or a scenic ride from Blönduós to the farm Holti. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon before a delightful dinner.

Day 4: Riding, Þingeyrar

Saddle up at Holti for an extraordinary ride towards the historic Þingeyrar Church, crossing black sands and the scenic lake Húnavatn. Opt for a partial ride if you prefer, with a convenient pickup to rejoin the group in Þingeyrar. After a picnic, explore the historical Þingeyrar Church and archaeological excavations. Return to the guesthouse for an afternoon of leisure, with optional activities such as museum visits, swimming, or cultural experiences. Conclude the day with a farewell dinner.

Day 5: Blönduós – Reykjavík

Bid farewell to your guides and embark on the journey back to Reykjavík. Arriving around 12:30 at Reykjavík BSÍ, you can extend your stay with additional activities, such as a riding trip over the black sands and waters of lake Hóp. Explore more possibilities for an extended and enriched experience in the captivating landscapes of Iceland.
