If you want
more luxury, then this is the tour for you! Our host are the horse farmers Gudmar Petursson and Linda Run Petursdottir. They are
both educated riding instructors and give great emphasize to teaching the right
moves, give pointers and give special focus on finding the perfect match of
horses and people. The tacks and saddles are the best ones in the market, all
from Ástund. On this tour we give great emphasize on giving a personal
experience and we have about one guide for every 3 guests. On this tour we will
be extremely environmental and try to reduce waist and use no plastic.

The Snæfellsjökull
National Park is where you find one of Iceland´s most beautiful and

emblematic sights – the glacier-covered cone volcano Snæfellsjökull. This
horseback riding tour in Snæfellsnes Iceland is definitely the best way to see
the astonishing nature of the

peninsula.  The mystery and spiritual aura of this still active volcano
were made famous

through Jules Verne’s novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Many of the
great Sagas are

located in this very area. Today the remote beauty and rich bird life draw
visitors from all

over the world. The peninsula itself is often called “Iceland in a nutshell”
because of its

diversity of landscape.

Day 1. Reykjavík –
Hestaland

Pick up at the BSI Bus
terminal at 17:30. Arrive at Hestaland in
the evening of August 3rd in time for dinner.

Day 2. Hestaland

This day we spend preparing riders for the
trek and getting them to know the horses they will be riding. We start in the
indoor arena and then go for a ride around the farm. We come back for lunch and
do another ride in the afternoon.

Day 3. Hestaland-
Grímstaðir - Hítará river – Hestaland

Now we start the trek leaving the farm
with a loose herd of horses running with us. We head west to the Snaefellsnes
peninsula cross the river Langá and through the farm Grimsstadir, go through a lava field to the Hitara
river, we now follow the rider to our destination for the day. The van will
come pick us up and take us back to Hestaland where dinner, wine and hot tub is
waiting.

Day 4. Hestaland –
Kolvidarnes

After breakfast the van takes us back to
where we ended the day before. We keep riding down the Hitara river until we
come to the beach we get on the beach and start to head north, we are on the
beach most of that day until we come to the Kolvidarnes farm where we end the
day and head home again for dinner.

Day 5. Kolvidarnes –
Hestaland

Today we are going to leave the herd
behind and choose our favorite horse and we go for a magical ride on the white
sand beach, we go out to some sandy islands and then come back to Kolvidarnes.

Day 6. Hestaland –
Hraundalur

We head back in-land to Myrdalur farm from
there we follow the mountains in the direction back to Hestaland we go back
through the lava fields and end the day by Hraundalur.

Day 7. Hraundalur –
Hestaland

Today we ride up the incredible Hraundalur
and we go straight up the mountain and stop and the mountain cottage Lambafell,
there we take a break before riding down Grenjadalur following the beautiful
Langa river and we ride all the way home to Hestaland.

Day 8. Hestaland –
Reykjavik

After breakfast we bring you back to
Reykjavik, to BSI bus terminal.
