The farm is only 20 minutes driving from downtown Reykjavík. When you arrive at the farm we go to the stables and get to know the horses in the stable. We then have a short riding lessons where I will show you the basics for riding the Icelandic horse and tell you the background of the Icelandic horse breed. You will then get your horse. Once you hae your horse, we start your riding lesson and once you are comfortable; we ride. The ride is about 40 minutes, we ride in a beautiful landscape, around our small valley. The ride will take us along a beautiful river which is hidden away from all tourists - my personal favourite. This is the perfect introduction to the Icelandic horse. We have all kinds of horses, for professional riders and beginners. When we arrive from the riding tour we go to the main building where traditional roasted lamb will be served in my kitchen prepared according to my family recipe. (local vegetarian options are available). The entire tour is about 3 hours and starts every weekday at 11.
